His longtime spokesperson Glenn Schwartz shared with press that he is “resting comfortably” at the hospital as he is being treated for diffuse large B cell lymphoma, according to The Wrap.

Louie‘s cancer is a form of blood cancer which attacks certain types of white blood cells that make antibodies to fight infections and is “potentially curable.”

Most recently, Louie opened up about his mission to get healthier during an appearance on Conan in 2021, and shared he had lost 40 pounds since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

“I started the pandemic at about 370 or 380 pounds depending on what I was leaning on, and now I’m 340. I’m trying to get 275 so I can get into some of my mom’s actual clothes,” he said.

Louie is also known for Life of Louie, an animated series which won him two Daytime Emmys.
