Jennie Nguyen has issued an apology after several Facebook posts of hers resurfaced.

On Wednesday (January 19), posts allegedly from the 44-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star’s Facebook page in 2020 were shared on social media, in which she criticized the Black Lives Matter movement, the nationwide protests and riots following the death of George Floyd, and more, Page Six reports.

“I want to acknowledge and apologize for my deleted Facebook posts from 20202 that resurfaced today,” Jennie wrote on Instagram, along with the caption “#hateisavirus.”

“At the time, I thought I was speaking out against violence, but I have since learned how offensive my words were,” Jennie continued. “It’s why I deactivated that account more than a year ago and why I continue to try to learn about perspectives different from my own.”

Jennie concluded, “I regret those posts and am sincerely sorry for the pain they caused.”

Jennie‘s public apology comes shortly after she called out RHOSLC cast member Mary Cosby during a recent episode after Mary said she loved Jennie‘s “slanted eyes.”

New episodes of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City air on Sunday nights at 9pm ET on Bravo.
