Alana Haim Once Babysat 'Licorice Pizza' Co-Star Cooper Hoffman

Alana Haim has revealed that before co-starring with Cooper Hoffman in Licorice Pizza, she was his babysitter.

The 30-year-old musician and actress spoke to Variety in a podcast interview, adding that Cooper doesn’t like to refer to her as a former babysitter.

Cooper, who plays Gary Valentine, the teenager smitten with her character, was babysat by Alana, and her sisters, Este and Danielle.

“He hates when I say ‘babysat’ because he was 13 and didn’t need a babysitter,” Alana shared.

She then opened up about what he was like as a young teenager: “He was just so engaging for a 13-year-old, he really was…I talk about it like [that line in the movie] – ‘I’m never going to forget you and you’re never going to forget me.’”
