Is Lavania a Real Place? See Where 'The Royal Treatment' Was Filmed!

The new movie The Royal Treatment was just released on Netflix and most of the movie takes place in Lavania.

The Royal Treatment follows Laura Marano as Isabella, who runs her own salon and isn’t afraid to speak her mind, while Prince Thomas (Mena Massoud) runs his own country and is about to marry for duty rather than love. When Izzy and her fellow stylists get the opportunity of a lifetime to do the hair for the royal wedding, she and Prince Thomas learn that taking control of their own destiny requires following their hearts.

Thomas is the prince of Lavania and the movie takes the cast to the foreign destination for the bulk of the movie. So, is it a real place?

NO, Lavania is not a real country!

Just like Genovia from The Princess Diaries, which is actually referenced in The Royal Treatment, the location was made up for the movie. The film says that Lavania is located east of Aldovia, another fake location that was the setting for Netflix’s A Christmas Prince movies.

The Royal Treatment was filmed on location in New Zealand and Larnach Castle was used for the royal family’s castle.
