Louie Anderson Dead - Comedian & Actor Dies at 68

Louie Anderson has died.

The Emmy Award-winning comedian, actor and game show host passed away at the age of 68 in Las Vegas on Friday morning (January 21), Deadline confirmed via his publicist.

Louie was hospitalized for treatment of diffuse large B cell lymphoma, a form of cancer.

The Minnesota native was known for many roles over the years, including Coming to America and its 2021 sequel, and his Emmy-winning turn for his role as Christine Baskets, mother of Chip and Dale, in the FX series Baskets.

He also won Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Performer In An Animated Program for Life with Louie in 1997 and 1998.

Louie produced several stand-up specials over the years as well, up to 2018′s Louie Anderson: Big Underwear.

He also hosted Family Feud from 1999 to 2002 and appeared on Celebrity Family Feud in 2017, as well as serving as a panelist on Funny You Should Ask.

Our thoughts are with Louie Anderson‘s loved ones at this difficult time.
