Tom Cruise's Next Two 'Mission: Impossible' Movies Have Both Been Delayed

The upcoming movies Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8 have both been given new release dates.

Tom Cruise began filming the movies in early 2020, just as COVID-19 began to spread around the world, which disrupted the production.

MI7 previously had released dates of July 23, 2021, November 19, 2021, May 27, 2022, and September 30, 2022.

The new release date for the movie is now July 14, 2023 and Mission: Impossible 8 will follow one year later on June 28, 2024.

“After thoughtful consideration, Paramount Pictures and Skydance have decided to postpone the release dates for Mission: Impossible 7 & 8 in response to delays due to the ongoing pandemic. The new release dates will be July 14, 2023, and June 28, 2024, respectively. We look forward to providing moviegoers with an unparalleled theatrical experience,” Paramount and Skydance said in a statement.

Tom‘s upcoming movie Top Gun: Maverick is still scheduled to be released on May 27, 2022.

Filming on the seventh movie finally finished in September 2021 after more than a year of work.
