'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D' Actor Vachik Mangassarian Dies at 78

Vachik Mangassarian has sadly passed away at the age of 78.

People reports that the actor, best known for playing Qasum Zaghlul on Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, died of COVID-19 related complications.

According to Deadline, Vachik was born in Iran in 1943 and emigrated to the United States at 23. He landed his first big break in 1978′s The South’s Shark and went on to appear in The A-Team, Sledge Hammer!, The Fall Guy, Murder, She Wrote, Falcon Crest, Jake and the Fatman, Murphy Brown and NYPD Blue, among others.

The actor was of Armenian descent and was central to getting the 2012 movie Lost and Found in Armenia made. The film marked the first time in Armenian movie history that Armenian and American actors worked alongside each other.

He is survived by his sisters Linda and Elda, their spouses, nephews and a niece.
