Their agency DSP Media issued a statement to confirm the news.

“After a lengthy discussion with each of the April members, the agency has come to the decision to disband the team so that the members may walk on their individual paths from now on,” they said. (English translation via Allkpop.)

“We ask for you abundant support and attention toward the 6 members who will now embark on their own paths, not as members of April. Furthermore, we would like to take this time to sincerely thank the fans who cheered on the girls of April for the past 6 years.”

The group debuted in August of 2015 with their EP Dreaming, going on to release several singles and EPs in South Korea, including “Dream Candy,” “April Story,” “Tinker Bell” and “Lalalilala.”

The group faced significant scandal in 2021 following member bullying accusations, which their agency denied.

At the same time, another K-pop girl group is about to make its highly anticipated debut.
