Tom Brady Retires from Football After 22 Seasons in the NFL (Report)

Tom Brady, who is one of the most famous football players of all time, is retiring from the sport after 22 seasons in the NFL.

The 44-year-old quarterback’s latest season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came to and end this past weekend when the team lost against the Los Angeles Rams in the final seconds.

Tom‘s career in the NFL began in 2000 when he was selected as the 199th overall pick in the NFL Draft. He was drafted by the New England Patriots and became the team’s starting quarterback during his second season, which is when the team won its first Super Bowl title.

Throughout his career, Tom was starting quarterback for the Patriots for 18 seasons, leading them to 17 division titles and six Super Bowl titles. He joined the Buccaneers in 2020 and led them to a Super Bowl win in 2021.

ESPN‘s Jeff Darlington and Adam Schefter are citing sources who say that Tom is officially retiring from football, though the star himself has not released a statement as of now.

The sources said that Tom‘s “decision to retire is based on several factors, including family and health. While less significant, Brady also recognizes that the Buccaneers are likely to undergo significant roster turnover.”

The source says Tom will likely time his announcement so he doesn’t upstage the upcoming Super Bowl or NFL postseason games.
