Soap Opera Star Chad Duell Says He Was Never Really Married to Ex-Wife Courtney Hope

Chad Duell is opening up about his split from ex-wife Courtney Hope and he says that they were never really married.

The former couple got married in a “Till Death”-themed wedding back in September 2021 and their split was announced just two months later.

Chad, who plays Michael Corinthos on General Hospital, and Courtney, who stars as Sally Spectra on The Young and the Restless, got engaged during a surprise picnic on Valentine’s Day last year after five years of dating.

In a new interview on his co-star Maurice Benard‘s State of Mind channel, Chad opened up about the split and said that they never signed the paperwork to make the marriage official.

“It’s a complicated situation, and it’s not what anybody thinks,” he said. “We didn’t actually sign anything. We weren’t really, like, you know, married or anything, really. It was amicable, kind of just that.”

Chad said he’s still friend with Courtney, adding, “All I’ll say is she’s an amazing person, she’s an amazing woman, she’s an amazing dog mom.”
