The 39-year-old actor plays Motley Crue rocker Tommy Lee in the new Hulu series, opposite Lily James as Pamela Anderson.
The pair sat down for an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night (January 31), where Sebastian revealed acting coach Larry Moss gave him a special technique to get into character on set.

Sebastian explained that Larry worked with Helen Hunt for her role in As Good As It Gets, advising the actress to put nickels in her shoes so that she would know what it’s like to stand on your feet for 12 hours.
The actor asked for a similar method to implement for Pam & Tommy and the acting coach suggested he try putting two steel balls down his pants.
“Tommy was a big man,” Sebastian said, “I know it sounds insane to you, but trust me, I was like, I need to kind of feel like a man.”
Lily said she had no idea he had been given that advice during production. “I’m so glad I didn’t know,” she added, laughing.
The limited series premieres with three episodes on February 2nd. Check out the trailer for the show here!
