Joe Rogan Apologizes After Spotify Removes 70 Episodes of His Podcast for N-Word Use

Spotify has pulled 70 episodes of Joe Rogan‘s popular podcast The Joe Rogan Experience due to his use of the N-word.

Music star India.Arie said this week that she will be pulling her music from Spotify over Rogan‘s use of the N-word and that she commends people who are pulling their music for other reasons.

“He shouldn’t even be uttering the word,” Arie said. “Don’t even say it, under any context. Don’t say it. That’s where I stand. I have always stood there.”

Rogan has spoken out with an apology for what he has said in the past.

In a video that he posted to Instagram, Rogan said his use of the word is “the most regretful and shameful thing I’ve ever had to talk about publicly.”

“It looks f–king horrible. Even to me,” he said. “I know that to most people, there is no context where a white person is ever allowed to say that word, nevermind publicly on a podcast, and I agree with that now. I haven’t said it in years. Instead of saying ‘the N-word,’ I would just say the word. I thought as long as it was in context, people would understand what I was doing.”
