Sherri Shepherd to Be Named Permanent Guest Host of 'Wendy Williams Show' (Report)

It sounds like Sherri Shepherd might be stepping in full-time.
The 54-year-old star is becoming a “permanent guest host” of The Wendy Williams Show amid Wendy Williams‘ private health battle, via TMZ.

Multiple sources told the outlet that Sherri will lead the show, beginning in September. The deal is “almost locked, and everyone involved expects it will be inked in the very near future.”
According to the report, producers are monitoring Wendy, and if she gets better, there is still an opportunity for her to return to the gig. If she is unable to return, they’ll change the name of the show was early as September, just in time for the 15th season of the show.
Wendy stepped away from her show back in October after suffering “serious complications” from Graves Disease as well as a thyroid condition, in addition to battling COVID-19. Her last appearance on the show was back in July of 2021.
