Chace Crawford Opens Up About His 'Instant Friendship' With Leighton Meester

Chace Crawford is the latest original Gossip Girl star to join Jessica Szohr on her new podcast, XOXO.

Chace revealed to Jessica that during his final audition for Nate Archibald, he kept thinking, “Who’s going to play Blair Waldorf?”

“They let me into this massive waiting room,” he recalled. “And there was this one girl in this chair at the very end, with her back to me…and I kind of went, ‘Hi, let me introduce myself,’ she turns around, headband on, it’s Leighton.”

Chace added, “I assumed like, ‘Oh, that’s the girl! Like if she can act, I’m sure she can.’”

“We kind of had an instant friendship connection,” he said. “Easy to talk to.”
