Penn Badgley Returns to Twitter to Share His Revelation About The Beatles

Penn Badgley doesn’t tweet that often, but he took to his social media page this week to post a rare message.

The 35-year-old You and Gossip Girl actor shared the revelation that he had about The Beatles‘ name after hearing about it on Sean Hayes‘ podcast.

On the latest episode of the Smartless podcast, Sean chatted with co-hosts Jason Bateman and Will Arnett about the meaning behind the band’s name.

Jason referenced Sean and said, “This ding dong didn’t understand that The Beatles, spelled B-E-A-T, like the beat, like one makes a beat with music.”

“I did not know that. Isn’t that so stupid?” Sean said.

Penn agreed with Sean!

“I stand with @SeanHayes for I, too, didn’t know the Beatles’ name was wordplay. After all this time I just… never thought about it. And I do think a lot. Furthermore, as a pun: I’m not crazy about it. I don’t love it. I want my ignorance back. It changes things for me,” he tweeted.

Penn and a huge music star recently fangirled over each other on Twitter.
