The Los Angeles-based pop singer-songwriter has been making waves in the music industry for some time now, and she’s just dropped a brand new EP on Tuesday (February 22), called Confused @ 22, featuring six deeply personal songs.

“Each song on the EP supports the other while also standing alone. At first listen, one might say it’s full of fun upbeat songs about a young adult‘s experience. However, the majority of them have made me cry in some way or another,” she explains.

“When the title ‘Confused @ 22’ was suggested by a lovely friend of mine, I couldn’t shake it. These are songs about reluctance, indecision, and wishful thinking wrapped in a strong, empowering sound. There is no title track for this project, although the words ‘confused’ and ‘twenty-two’ are tucked into the lyrics both literally and metaphorically,” she continues.

“Confusion at my age has been something that I’ve noticed resonates with so many people in this era. In a society where choices are virtually endless & a pandemic has stifled our social stamina, this EP is full of songs that not only speak from the heart in acceptance of where we are, but also have that sonic nudge to do something about it.”

Alexa released her first EP in 2019, as well as tracks like “Forbidden” and “SAY SOMETHING,” and soon won herself fans through her TikTok and social media presence.

1. I am a twin! My brother and I get along really well, considering he is also my manager. We talk every day and our parents hardly saw a dull moment growing up.

2. I live a renovated trailer! #rvlife It was my quarantine project at the beginning of 2020. I loved being able to make it my own :)

3. I enjoy hiking! I’d call it a hobby because I’m no hiking-buff, but being outdoors makes me feel at peace.

4. The first song original song I ever performed was for a Reflections project in elementary school. One might’ve called me audacious with the lyric: “get on your knees its time to plant some trees, cha cha change the world”

5. I was born and raised in Southern California and I’d have it no other way.

6. I have a smoothie every morning without fail. I often dream of touring and know for a fact my blender will be joining me when that day comes.

7. My all time favorite movie is the original Jumanji from the 90’s. I remember going on roadtrips as a kid and playing that movie over and over again on the portable DVD players my parents got us to stay quiet and distracted for long drives. Grease is a close second.

8. My biggest inspiration right now as an artist and a songwriter is Julia Michaels. The last few years I’ve become fallen in love with her music, as well as the songs she’s written for other people. She has mastered coupling specificity with simplicity in her writing and I am such a fan.

9. If I could get any kind of pet I would love to try living life with a frog. I also think pigs are so cute and would love to adopt one someday.

10. My favorite season is spring because of the of summer being right around the corner. I love warm weather. Maybe this is me admitting Summer might be my favorite… deep down perhaps. However the flowers and new blooming of the spring always hits different.
