There's an 'Outlander' Prequel Series Coming to Starz!

Outlander is expanding!

The hit Starz show, which stars Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, is getting a prequel series, Variety reported Friday (February 25).

Executive producer and showrunner Matthew B. Roberts is reportedly attached to write and executive produce the prequel, and a writers’ room is currently being assembled, set to begin work “in the coming weeks.”

Plot details are still being kept under wraps.

The original show is based on the ongoing novel series of the same name by Diana Gabaldon. She recently teased that she is still working on a prequel novel about Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, the parents of Jamie Fraser.

Season 6 of Outlander is due to arrive on Starz on March 6. A seventh season has already been greenlit. Watch the teaser for the new season!
