Pokémon Announces Scarlet & Violet Games Coming in Late 2022

Pokémon is coming back in a big way!

The hit video game series revealed two new titles on Sunday (February 27) – Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet – coming later this year, along with three new starter Pokémon.

“Welcome to the open world of Pokémon. Embark on an open-world adventure in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, arriving on Nintendo Switch in late 2022. ❤️💜 #ScarletViolet,” the company announced.

It is the first of the ninth generation of Pokémon, and features three new characters: Sprigatito, a Grass-type cat, Fuecoco, a Fire-type croc, and Quaxly, a Water-type duckling.
