During the conversation, Shawn discussed the idea of finally teaming up the faux-enemies, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, who have maintained a playful back-and-forth over the years.

He and Hugh Jackman previously worked together on 2011’s Real Steel, which now has a Disney+ spinoff series in development. Hugh even has a voice cameo in Free Guy in which Ryan stars. Ryan also stars in the new The Adam Project.

Regarding the Real Steel spinoff series, he said: “It’s its own thing entirely, and I am not giving up the hope or the possibility of a sequel as well.”

When asked about Ryan having made more movies with him than Hugh Jackman, and whether Hugh wants to do another to even it out, Shawn revealed: “What we want is to fold it all in together and make a big, fat bromance sandwich of a movie,” he said.

“Because the world wants the Hugh Jackman-Ryan Reynolds movie. I don’t know exactly what it’s going to be, but I know it needs to be me who directs it.”

He also opened up about the possibility of an Adam Project sequel.
