The 48-year-old model stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Friday (March 11), where she discussed her Snoop Dogg collaboration “Chai Tea with Heidi.”

Heidi explained that she had been asked by the team at Germany’s Next Top Model to sing the theme song for the upcoming season and joked, “I was like, ‘Hey you don’t have to ask me twice to sing something for you guys.’”

She went on to say she felt like she wanted someone else to appear on the track so she reached out to Snoop, who agreed right away. Heidi shared that her husband, Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz, worked on the song and she came up with the idea to incorporate part of Rod Stewart‘s song “Baby Jane.”

“Yeah, but here’s where it gets tricky,” host Jimmy Fallon said. “Then you have to find Rod Stewart and get his permission.”

“And can I tell you something, that was the hardest thing to do. They should make a movie about finding Rod Stewart,” she replied as Jimmy laughed. ” Because it was very easy to find Snoop Dogg… But Rod Stewart, boy, he’s hard to find.”

Heidi asked her hairstylist one day if she knew anyone who could put her in contact with the singer and revealed that her stylist put her in touch with Rod‘s daughter Kimberly. The model reached out and didn’t hear back for a while, leading her to think that Rod hated the song.

“And then I don’t hear anything and so I’m like, ‘Wow, he hates it,” you know? I thought he hated the song and everything was for nothing… So after maybe like one or two months, someone said to me, ‘Well, have you checked your spam mail? He probably is in the spam mail.’”

“I look in the spam mail,” she continued. “He’s in the spam mail. For two months I’ve been sitting around waiting, thinking he hates it. Meanwhile, he was like, ‘I love it. Go for it.’”
