Renee Zellweger Reveals How She Met Boyfriend Ant Anstead

Renee Zellweger is opening up about her love life.

The 52-year-old actress got candid in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar about meeting her boyfriend, Ant Anstead.

During the interview, she explained that she was processing the loss of her good friend and publicist Nanci Ryder, who was known for her A-list clients and flirtatious spirit.

“It was around Judy,” she said.

“Late night, and I remember I watched the Property Brothers with Brad Pitt.”

She was referring to the HGTV show called Celebrity IOU, in which a famous person honors someone in his or her life by having the Property Brothers renovate their home.

Renee wanted to celebrate the two nurses who’d cared for her friend Nanci in the last years of her life, twin brothers named Jerome Cowan and Jerald Cowan. As it turned out, a spin-off of the show was in development: Celebrity IOU: Joyride featuring Ant Anstead as host.

In the end, Jerome got a 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass and Jerald got a vintage Bronco, while Renee ended up dating the host of the show.

When Renee was asked if she thinks Ant has somehow been a gift from her late friend, she said: “Yeah, we do joke about that. She’s always doing her best. It made me smile. It made me smile to think on this, yeah, the serendipity of it all.”

She also revealed the unusual way she arrived at the 2020 Oscars.
