Riz Ahmed is a winner!

The 39-year-old actor, who wore Zegna, won his first Academy Award at the 2022 Academy Awards on Sunday (March 27) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Riz won in the category of Best Live Action Short Film for The Long Goodbye during the evening’s ceremony.

“In such divided times, we believe that the role of story is to remind us there is no ‘us’ and ‘them’. There’s just ‘us.’ This is for everyone who feels like they don’t belong. Anyone who feels like they’re stuck in no man’s land. You’re not alone. We’ll meet you there. That’s where the future is. Peace,” he said during the acceptance speech.

He was previously nominated for Best Actor at the 2021 Oscars for his role in Sound of Metal.

The show is being hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer, and Wanda Sykes and an eclectic list of presenters will appear throughout the night.
