Youn Yuh-jung signing Troy Kotaur’s name and congratulations before speaking is such a beautiful example that 1. She’s a glowing icon 2. There are many easy things we can do to make our environments more accessible but internalized ableism is rampant

So many moving moments in these short few minutes— between Youn Yuh-jung signing his win and holding his award so he could sign, his story of his father, his love for his community and pride in his achievement— and the audience cheering him on in sign. https://t.co/0NaYkHPrj8

My favorite #Oscars moment so far was when Youn Yuh-jung grabbed Troy Kotsur’s #statue out of his surprised hands so he could sign his speech. @TroyKotsur pic.twitter.com/mpqd50b9sp

Youn Yuh-jung apologized for complaining about her name being botched, because now she was the one in the position of having to read the names … but then she proceeded to nail every name, and even signed for Troy Kotsur. She showed everybody how respect is done. #Oscars
