Jim Gaffigan Gets Backlash for Comparing Will Smith to Donald Trump in Since-Deleted Tweet

Jim Gaffigan is sticking up for Chris Rock, and making a comparison between Will Smith and Donald Trump.

The 55-year-old comedian shared his thoughts regarding Will smacking Chris at the 2022 Oscars on Twitter following the shocking incident.

“I’m still disgusted,” he wrote.

“We don’t deserve the brilliance of @chrisrock. ‘When you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything,’ – Donald Trump and Will Smith,” he went on to say.

The tweet almost instantly began getting a lot of mixed reactions on Twitter, and the comedian ultimately deleted the tweet.

“Okay bad comparison on my part. I was trying to make a point but it doesn’t matter. FYI, i didn’t think the joke was brilliant. I said Chris Rock is brilliant. I still do and we don’t deserve his brilliance. Please continue to defend physical assault. It says so much,” he then said.
