Rita Ora Talks Oscars Night with Taika Waititi, Reveals She Was in the Bathroom for THAT Moment

Rita Ora is opening up about her night at the Oscars this weekend with boyfriend Taika Waititi!

The 31-year-old singer didn’t attend the actual show this year, but her and Taika were guests at the 2022 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on Sunday night (March 27) at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Rita and Taika were among the stars who showed up at the event early to attend the exclusive dinner and viewing party.

In a new interview, Rita talked about that night and revealed she was in the bathroom for THAT moment.

FITZY: Rita when you’re at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, are there moments in your career where you pinch yourself and you go wow, things have changed.

RITA: You know what, guys? I’m not even saying this, but I don’t really remember that much. I just had a good time. I was drinking and dancing. And all I knew was I woke up and I thought whoa, what happened?

WIPPA: You know what, I love this photo that we’re looking at here and the Taika’s face, right?

RITA: Aw he helped me with my train on the carpet, it was very nice.

SARAH: That dress was stunning.

RITA: Thank you it was all hand beaded. It was amazing.

WIPPA: Because this photo here, he’s such a funny guy. Such a funny bloke but this photo here is like a reaction shot after the slap and you’ve got Jason Bateman at the table. You know JJ Abrams you got everybody there Ron Howard’s even there Sienna Miller we you on that table as well.

RITA: I suddenly had to go to the bathroom at that point, which I’m very annoyed about.

FITZY: We thought you may have taken the photo.

RITA: No no no. To be fair, though. I feel like that photo is gonna exist for eternity.

WIPPA: What a table though. So you got back from the bathroom and then you realized what had happened?

RITA: I was like, What is going on? What’s happening?

FITZY: It would have made the night more entertaining. Was everyone talking about it at the party?

RITA: You know, I think it’s such a specific thing that I genuinely not even joking. I just wanted to have a good time with my friends. And me and Taika just really just had the best time through the night. And that was it.

WIPPA: When you when you look at the table there in the event you’re at where do you go to from there? Where’s the after party?

RITA: Oh, there’s so many. I mean, it’s insane. Because afterwards obviously everyone just wants to have a good time and they’re uncomfortable frocks. It’s like everyone’s like trying to dance and they can’t really like move and it’s just amazing to see but I loved it. I mean, I love celebrating with some good friends of mine and seeing some people from the UK that kind of flew over some good friends and it was a nice reunion to be fair.

FITZY: You didn’t run into Keith? Was Keith there, your fellow judge?

RITA: I didn’t actually see him out and about to be honest. It was sad because I was looking forward to seeing him but he might be he might be sick of me. I see him so much.

WIPPA: Did you hear the comment? I think it was Dolly Parton. I think Keith’s got a new book out and Dolly Parton put a quote out there saying that when I’m in bed with my man I shut my eyes and think of Keith Urban.

RITA: Really? Oh, I didn’t know that. You know what? It makes sense because from working with Keith he is by far the nicest guy I think I’ve ever met in my whole entire life. I’m not even just saying that for someone to be that successful and that down to earth. It’s just crazy to meet just see and be like Keith I can’t believe I’m still sitting next to Keith it’s very interesting.
