Eric Church Cancels Concert to Go See Final Four Basketball Game

Sorry to the fans, but Eric Church has other plans.

The 44-year-old “Heart on Fire” country singer-songwriter announced Tuesday (March 29) that he’s cancelled an upcoming concert just to see his favorite team, University of North Carolina, play against Duke in the Final Four match-up over the weekend.

He revealed to his fans that he wants to see the Tar Heels game on Saturday night (April 2), so he won’t be able to perform at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, calling it “the most selfish thing.”

“I’ve watched Carolina and Duke battle over the year, but to have them matchup in the Final Four for the first time in history of the NCAA Tournament is any sports enthusiast’s dream,” he said.

Many fans have since left dozens of outraged comments across his social media pages, criticizing him for the decision.
