The outlet reports that HBO Max is in early development on not just one, but two shows tied to the films.

Inspired by the books of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the two new series will each focus on a new character that would be introduced in Sherlock Holmes 3.

Robert, and his wife Susan Downey, will executive produce the shows along with Amanda Burrell of Team Downey. Lionel Wigram of Wigram productions will also executive produce, with Warner Bros. Television producing.

Discussions about a spinoff show first came to light in 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic.

The two Sherlock Holmes movies, which came out in 2009 and 2011, collectively grossed over 1 billion worldwide.

There’s another Sherlock Holmes based series currently in production for Netflix!
