Here's How 'The Equalizer' Explained Chris Noth's Absence After He Was Fired

Chris Noth‘s character William Bishop has officially been written off The Equalizer.

For one-and-a-half seasons, the actor played the former CIA handler and friend of Queen Latifah‘s Robyn. It was announced that he had been removed from the cast in December, after several women came forward with allegations of sexual assault and misconduct.

On Sunday (April 11), Robyn discovered that William had spent months investigating a plane crash. She and her team found out that her antagonist Mason Quinn (Chris Vance) had planned to bring down another plane, and this time William was on it. Robyn was unable to stop the attack and watched as her friend was killed in the ensuing crash.

Chris‘ last on-camera appearance was in the January 2 episode, which was filmed before the claims were made public.

Queen Latifah addressed his exit in January, explaining: “We are figuring out what we want to do creatively on the show and how we’re going to deal with that character…. Chris’s character is obviously a big part of the show, and it was amazing chemistry.”

Earlier this year, two people behind-the-scenes of the Sex and the City reboot spoke out about the allegations.
