Gillian Anderson Recalls Thinking Bill Clinton Would Call Her After Their 'Intimate' Meeting
Gillian Anderson is looking back at the time she met Bill Clinton.
During an appearance on Tuesday night’s (April 12) episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the actress discussed her new role as Eleanor Roosevelt on Showtime’s The First Lady and recalled the memorable moment she shared with the former president.

“I met him when he was running for office the first time,” she said. “It was a lunch at somebody’s fancy house in the Hollywood Hills.”
“He did the most miraculous thing in the world. You know that thing that he does where he shakes your hand and then he grabs your elbow at the same time? He like holds your arm further up. Slightly intimate little thing, makes eye contact,” Gillian continued, reenacting Bill‘s moves.
“He moves on to the next person, then he looks back at you,” the X Files star continued.
“I got all that except the look back,” Jimmy replied. “I did not experience that.”
“I went home, and this was in the days of answering machine, and I literally thought I was going to go home to a message from him,” Gillian added. “I did, it was that real.”
She went on to say she voted for Bill, even though he didn’t call.
