Shonda Rhimes Reveals the Characters She Wants to Return to 'Grey's Anatomy'

Shonda Rhimes is opening up about Grey’s Anatomy!

While she doesn’t run the show anymore, the 52-year-old producer – who created the long-running ABC medical drama – revealed in a new interview which characters she’d like to see return to the show.

“Some of them aren’t alive anymore,” Shonda shared with Entertainment Tonight. “I always loved Meredith and Derek. I loved the week we got to see that reunion. I always loved George.”

Derek – played by Patrick Dempsey – was killed off the show back in season 11 while George – played by T.R. Knight – was killed off in season six. Both actors returned for dream sequences in season 17.

“There’s so many wonderful characters that are on that show that we want to have in our hearts and our memories, but that’s the beauty of such a long-running show,” Shonda added. “There’s so much to go back and re-watch.”

In an interview from late last year, Shonda opened up about when Grey’s Anatomy might potentially end.
