Tom Ellis & Lucy Liu to Star in ‘Exploding Kittens’ Animated Series at Netflix

Tom Ellis and Lucy Liu are set to star in a new show at Netflix!

Variety writes that the Lucifer star and the Charlie’s Angels actress will appear in a new animated series based on the card game Exploding Kittens.

A mobile game adaptation called Exploding Kittens – The Game is also in development and will launch in May, before the show debut on Netflix in 2023.

The outlet writes that Exploding Kittens “follows the eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell as it reaches epic proportions when both God and the Devil are sent to Earth – in the bodies of chunky house cats.”

The cast also includes Abraham Lim, Ally Maki, Mark Proksch and Sasheer Zamata.

According to Netflix, the mobile game “retains the same classic gameplay where players draw cards aiming to avoid the Exploding Kitten, while adding two new exclusive cards to the deck: Radar, which reveals to players the position of the Exploding Kitten closest to the top of the card deck, and Flip Flop, which reverses the order of the cards in the deck.”

The streamer adds, “Future cards and game mechanics will be themed around the animated series so friends and families can play with their favorite characters and bring the show to life.”
