Shantel VanSanten Returns To 'FBI', Stepping In For Missy Peregrym's Maggie

Following the news that Missy Peregrym will be taking maternity leave for the rest of the season on FBI, Shantel VanSanten is stepping in.

The 36-year-old actress will be bringing back her character Nina to fill in the void on the team.

According to TV Line, Shantel‘s Nina, who guest starred earlier this month, will be back until the end of the season.

In the release, CBS shared that Nina will step in as a temporary member of Jubal’s team — partnered at first with OA (Zeeko Zaki), but later paired with others as well.

Nina is described as “smart, tough and accomplished,” and was introduced earlier this month while working undercover to infiltrate a major drug ring. When her case intersected with the team’s investigation of a double murder, Tiffany (Katherine Renee Turner) picked up on some history between Scola (John Boyd) and Nina.
