Idina Menzel Sees 'Wicked' for the First Time in Years: 'Incredibly Moved'

Idina Menzel is celebrating a special return to Broadway‘s Wicked.

The 50-year-old actress, who played the role of Elphaba in the original Broadway cast, as well as the original West End cast, shared photos from her trip on social media.

“Last minute trip to @WICKED_Musical with my son and his basketball team,” she wrote, referring to her 12-year-old son with Taye Diggs, Walker.

“Haven’t been back in years and was incredibly moved and proud of this cast and show. The 12 year old boys I was with had no idea I was the green girl. 💚”

The photos included shots with Wicked musical director and arranger Stephen Oremus, current Elphaba actress Lindsay Pearce and current Glinda actress Brittney Johnson.
