Cate Blanchett Says Her Kids Are Very 'Disinterested' In Her Fame at Chaplin Award Gala 2022

Cate Blanchett hits the red carpet in a stunning black dress for the 2022 Chaplin Award Gala held at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday night (April 25) in New York City.

The 52-year-old actress was honored with the prestigious award, which paid tribute to her as an “internationally acclaimed actor, producer, artistic director, humanitarian, and dedicated member of the arts community.”

Ahead of the ceremony, Cate opened up about how, while she was blown away by the honor, her children are less than impressed.

While chatting with Page Six, Cate explained that she had told her kids that she was “‘going to New York for 36 hours. I’ll be back on Wednesday…’ One of them is getting an award at school, and they went, ‘Oh, OK, have a good time.’”

She added that her kids – Dashiell, 20, Roman, 18, Ignatius, 14, and Edith, 7, whom she shares with husband Andrew Upton, are very “disinterested” in her fame, but “in the best possible, healthiest way.”
