Serena Williams Explains Why She Won't Teach Her Daughter to Play Tennis Herself

Serena Williams is opening up about the funny story behind her daughter Olympia‘s tennis lessons!

The 40-year-old tennis star was asked about her daughter’s tennis ambitions during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing on Monday (May 2).

Serena shared that she doesn’t teach her daughter Olympia herself and explained why.

“I don’t push her because I’m like, she’s four,” Serena said. “She’s alright. I’ve seen four-year-olds that might take her out.”

Serena added that Olympia‘s ambition right now is “princess games.”

Ellen mentioned how Serena enrolled Olympia in tennis lessons, but didn’t tell the teacher that she was the mother of the child.

“I don’t have the patience to teach tennis. I don’t really like to play with people who don’t know how to play tennis well. It drives me nuts,” Serena said. “So, I was like, I can’t. I don’t have the patience for this. So I signed her up for a private teacher.”
