Dove Cameron’s Met Gala Debut Dress Took 600 Hours To Make!

Dove Cameron hits the red carpet in a very unique look for her debut at the 2022 Met Gala on Monday evening (May 2) at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
The 26-year-old “Boyfriend” singer and actress walked the red carpet in a design from Iris Van Herpen creation, which took a total of 600 hours to make.
Inspired by cosmic structures of spiral nebulas, spiraling out from their center, the dress also features “macrocosmic delineated rivers of stars found in these spirals are reflected in the sketches of this design. A dramatic spheroid silhouette is created from singular fine lines, spiraling delicately with the wearer’s movements.”
Dove‘s dress was made from layers of white fabric with recycled mylar, which were laser cut and stitched onto a template with the artwork integrated in the pattern of the dress.
Long yarns were embroidered by hand onto the tips of the sleeve artwork and hem, which are reinforced by a delicate laser cut metal structure.
FYI: Dove is wearing Brilliant Earth earrings and a Lillian Shalom armor ring. She was prepped with Lancer Skincare by Kale Teter.
