'American Idol' 2022: Top 5 Contestants Revealed, 2 Eliminated During Mother's Day Episode

Two more contestants have eliminated from American Idol‘s latest season and the Top 5 have been revealed.

During the episode that aired on Sunday (May 8), the Top 7 contestants took to the stage for two performances – the first performances of the night were of a viral TikTok song and the second performance was a song dedicated to their moms in honor of Mother’s Day.

At the very beginning of the episode, host Ryan Seacrest announced that two of the contestants had tested positive for COVID-19.

America voted for their favorites throughout the show and the bottom two were eliminated at the end of the night.

New episodes of American Idol air at 8pm ET on Sundays on ABC.
