Here's Everything 'When Calls The Heart's Pascale Hutton & Kavan Smith Have Said About Rosemary & Lee Coulter Having A Baby

Fans got a big shock last week when the preview for tonight’s all new episode of When Calls The Heart hinted that Rosemary Coulter might possible be pregnant!

Pascale Hutton, who plays Rosemary, and Kavan Smith, who plays her on-screen husband Lee, have spoken in depth about the couple expanding their family since the moment they got married in season three.

“It’s been a constant conversation,” Pascale told Entertainment Tonight last year at the end of season 8.

Kavan added that they, nor the writers have “dropped the ball” on that storyline.

“Pascale and I are definitely championing that. We’re not dropping the ball, we are being tenacious, and we are trying to make that happen, but we will see where it ends up. We are doing our best,” he added. “If there’s any reason I think it’s logistics. We have one set of twins on the show, and it’s challenging working with little ones.”

The duo continued on, imagining just how Rosemary and Lee would act as they become expecting parents.

“For Lee and Rosemary, with the two quirky characters that they are to go through [a pregnancy] together? It’s just a gold mine of fun to be had…” Kavan said, adding that he leans towards an adoption storyline.

Pascale added that while she sees “value in both options,” personally, “I think it would be hilarious to see Rosemary pregnant. I think if I were to line up all the women in Hope Valley and go, ‘Who would I like to see play out pregnancy?’ I would pick Rosemary, and not just because I get to play her, but because I actually think it would be so hilarious to see Rosemary pregnant.”

“I can see the comedy in that very easily, but our show has also always been about hope, and what’s more hopeful than a child finding a home and finding two loving parents?”

When Calls The Heart airs tonight, Sunday, May 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Channel.
