Tom will be Fox’s lead NFL analyst and will call games! The job will be waiting for him when he does officially retire.

“It is entirely up to him for when he chooses to retire and move into what will be an exciting and stellar television career. That is up to him to make that choice when he sees fit,” Fox Corp. CEO Lachlan Murdoch said during the company’s fiscal third-quarter earnings call (via Deadline).

The deal was described as “long-term” and part of his job responsibilities will be to “not only call our biggest NFL games with lead play-by-play man Kevin Burkhardt, he will also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives. We are delighted that Tom is committed to joining the Fox team and we wish him the best in this upcoming season.”

If you don’t remember, Tom officially retired from the NFL back in February 2022 and at that point, it was assumed he would be getting a lot of offers to join a broadcast network to offer in-game analysis in real time. Tony Romo, the former quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, has a similar job right now.

A month after Tom announced his retirement, he announced he was no longer retiring and would be returning to play for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2022.
