Melanie Lynskey Teases What's Ahead For 'Yellowjackets' Season 2 Despite Not Having Any Scripts Yet

Melanie Lynskey is dropping some hints about what’s ahead for the upcoming season of Yellowjackets.

The 44-year-old actress, who plays Shauna on the hit series, spoke to Entertainment Tonight about what she knows about what’s ahead, and what she doesn’t.

“I know new people are coming in,” Melanie noted, mentioning that “older versions of a couple of the younger cast [are the ones] they’re trying to cast right now.”

She added that one of the older castings would be for Liv Hewson‘s Van, and Melanie says that Natasha Lyonne would be perfect for the role.

“She’s a friend of mine and I’m obsessed with her, but she’s too busy,” she says, noting that she’s “just sort of, like, dream casting it.”

Beyond that though, Melanie knows next to nothing about the upcoming season because she hasn’t received any scripts yet.

“I think they’ve been doing some outlines,” she shares. “I’m trying to leave them alone for a while because I can be a bit annoying in terms of trying to get information because I just want to know everything. I want as much information as I can get. So, I’m going to give them a little bit of space before I start to annoy them.”

However, she is looking forward to being back at work on the show.

“The writers are so good. I mean, I felt like last year I was excited to see what happened and then every script I’m like, ‘That’s what’s happening? That’s crazy!’” Melanie says. “So, I’m excited for more of those moments. I’m hoping that I get a few more scenes with Christina [Ricci] because I only had stuff with her in the last episode and she’s so fun.”

Just recently, there was a big update about the casts’ salaries and contracts.
