Sophie Turner Reveals Why She Didn't Reach Out To Margaret Ratliff For 'The Staircase'
Sophie Turner wears a cute daisy crocheted bucket hat while out to lunch at Wally’s with husband Joe Jonas on Tuesday afternoon (May 17) in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The cute couple were spotted waiting for their car at the valet, where they chatted with some fans, and even met a cute dog during their wait.
Sophie is currently appearing on HBO Max’s The Staircase as Margaret Ratliff, one of Michael Peterson‘s daughters.
Just recently, she chatted with Variety about the main reason she didn’t personally reach out to the real life Margaret for the series.

In a joint interview with Odessa Young, the two actresses explained their reasons why they chose not to reach out to Margaret and her sister, Martha, about their portrayals on the small screen.
“Margaret was very much in touch with Antonio [Campos], our director, and Maggie [Cohn, showrunner], and has been for a really long time” Sophie revealed. “But respectfully, it would have been detrimental to her health to keep chatting over with me.”
She added that “it was just a decision that she felt like wasn’t necessary. I completely respect that and also wouldn’t push it.”
Much like Sophie, this other Staircase actor didn’t reach out to their real life counterpart.
The Staircase airs Thursdays on HBO Max.
