Chace Crawford Thinks New Season Of 'The Boys' Will Tank His Career

Chace Crawford had a panic attack while filming the new season of The Boys.

The 36-year-old actor opened up to Jess Cagle on his SiriusXM show and revealed that there was one particular day during filming on season three that he was certain that his career was going to end after this season.

Writer Eric Kripke recalled Chace almost contemplating life after reading some scenes in episode six.

“I did do that. I got actually asked that quite a bit,” he shared, before recalled what happened, saying that while filming during lockdown in Toronto, many of the stars played golf every weekend, and it took place during one game.

Jensen Ackles chimed in, saying that he and Karl Urban were “out on the golf course and I texted you, ‘How’s work going?’ And I think your response was, ‘I don’t know that I’m gonna have a career after today.’”

“It’s rare that Kripke gets like a call or email from me, but I did have a panic attack, [and] one day Kripke had to talk me off the ledge, but it, it was all, it was all great,” Chace explained. “The crazier the sh** gets like the more, you know, Kripke always is like, ‘Just play it like you do. Like with nuance, just don’t push it.’”

He went on, “So funny when those more absurdist moments, you know, are played down the middle. I haven’t, I haven’t really seen much past, past the first couple. So I’m excited to see it.”

Chace also opened up about The Deep’s journey this season, revealing that he “can’t give too much away about [it], but…it does not disappoint.”

“He’s just trying to get back in The Seven man. He just wants to hang out with Homelandy again, you know, and just like be back in the tower, back in New York. He’s lost his identity and he’s just having a crisis.”
