James Patterson Issues Apology Over His Remarks About White Writers Facing Racism

James Patterson is backtracking on his remarks about white writers.

Earlier this week, the 75-year-old writer, who is the author of over 200 novels, got backlash about his comments that white male writers are facing racism in the industry.

In an interview with The Times, he expressed that he was “worried that it is hard for white men to get writing gigs in film, theatre, TV or publishing. [It’s] just another form of racism. What’s that all about? Can you get a job? Yes. Is it harder? Yes.”

James added, “It’s even harder for older writers. You don’t meet many 52-year-old white males.”
