BTS Company HYBE Issues Statement About 'Hiatus' & Says It Was a Mistranslation

After the group spoke out with their announcement in Korean in their video announcement, including the word “hiatus” in English subtitles, HYBE clarified following the apparent stock market panic.

“BTS are not taking a hiatus. Members will be focusing more on solo projects at this time,” the statement said, via Variety.

Jungkook later went live on the V Live app and clarified that the band would be working on solo projects, but will not stop working together. He also confirmed they are not disbanding, just taking a new direction.
