Christian Bale Reveals Whether He Would Consider Reprising His Role as Batman

Christian Bale is open to playing Batman again – under one condition.

The 48-year-old actor is set to make his MCU debut in Thor: Love and Thunder, in which he’ll play the movie’s antagonist Gorr the God Butcher.

But as fans know, this isn’t his first role in a superhero franchise, having starred as Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Dark Knight trilogy back in 2005.

In an interview with Screen Rant, Christian discussed what it would take for him to consider revisiting the iconic role again.

When asked whether anyone had brought up playing Batman again, Christian replied: “No. No one’s ever mentioned it to me. No one’s brought it up. [...] Occasionally people say to me, ‘Oh, I hear you were approached and offered all this.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s news to me. No one’s ever said that.’”

He added, “I had a pact with [director] Chris Nolan. We said, ‘Hey, look. Let’s make three films, if we’re lucky enough to get to do that. And then let’s walk away. Let’s not linger too long.’ In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.’ And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.”

While it’s unlikely that Christian will be making an appearance as Batman anytime soon, it’s been confirmed that another actor will be reprising the role for an upcoming DC movie.
