Comedian Paul Scheer Claims Tom Brady Threatened to Sue Him - Find Out Why

Tom Brady threatened legal action against me and the ‘Unspooled’ podcast,” Paul said. He revealed that him and his cohost Amy Nicholson watched the film Porco Rosso last month, and as a result, were discussing how director Hayao Miyazaki will “retire and then he comes out of retirement.” Tom Brady, of course, retired from the NFL in February 2022 and a short time later, announced he actually was not retiring and would play the 2022-2023 season.

“So I said, ‘Miyazaki is the Tom Brady of the animation world,’” Paul said. They soon began selling a shirt that depicted Tom wearing Miyazaki’s tan suit and glasses and throwing a football. The shirt had the phrase “Miyazaki is the Tom Brady of the animation world” and was available to sell in their online story.

When Tom and his lawyers got word, they allegedly filed an injunction against them over the use of his name in the shirt.

“If we continue to sell this shirt, we will be sued,” he explained. “Apparently this motherf–ker has trademarked his own name. So you can’t sell anything with words ‘Tom Brady’ on it.”

They did find a way around this and now sell a shirt that says “Miyazaki is the Brady of the animation world.”

Tom was caught in his underwear a few weeks ago. Find out why!
