Sigourney Weaver‘s brand new role in Avatar 2 is something so surprising that fans are still wrapping their heads around it.

If you recall, the 72-year-old actress portrayed Dr. Grace Augustine, an xenobotanist and head of the Avatar Program on Pandora, in the first film that was released in 2009. However, Grace died due to a gunshot wound inflicted by Colonel Quaritch.

But that didn’t count Sigourney out for the sequel film, titled Avatar 2: The Way of Water, and now the role she’ll be playing was revealed.
