Rafael Nadal Withdraws From Wimbledon Over Injury, Sends Nick Kyrgios to First Grand Slam Final

Rafael Nadal has been forced to withdraw from Wimbledon after suffering an injury.

The 36-year-old tennis star – who is currently ranked fourth in the world in men’s singles tennis – was supposed to take on Australia’s Nick Kyrgios in the semi-finals this week.

Rafael reportedly suffered a 7-millimeter tear in one of his abdominal muscles and it was impacting his velocity and accuracy. Nick will now play in his first ever grand slam final due to Rafael‘s withdrawal. Nick will play in the finals against the winner of Friday’s match between Novak Djokovic vs. Cameron Norrie.

Rafael has won Wimbledon twice before, but has not won there since 2010.
