The film comes from director Bille August, who’s best known for his work on 1993′s The House of the Spirits and 1998′s Les Misérables adaptation. The cast also includes Tom Hollander and Daisy Jacob.

According to the outlet, production is expected to begin in September.

“I am excited to board this phenomenal project and to be working with the legendary Bille August. I’m a huge fan of his work, and Me, You is a truly brilliant script,” James said in a statement.

James stepped away from acting after five women came forward to accuse him of sexually inappropriate behavior in an article published by the Los Angles Times in January 2018. Two of the alleged victims, Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal, filed a sexual misconduct lawsuit against James in 2019 and they reached a settlement in 2021 in which the actor agreed to pay $2,235,000.

James broke his silence on the allegations in December 2021, revealing that he had struggled with sex addition for years and admitted that he “cheated on everybody” before his relationship with his current girlfriend
