Martin Lawrence Reveals If 'Bad Boys 4' Is Still Happening After Will Smith's Oscars Slap

“We got one more at least,” Martin told the outlet.

The original Bad Boys movie premiere in 1995 and grossed $141 million worldwide, kicking off a successful franchise that followed with Bad Boys II in 2003 and Bad Boys for Life in 2020. The series has earned a total of $840 million at the global box office.

“It was big,” Martin said of the first Bad Boys. “For us to come together and prove that we can deliver, and we can pull people into the box office — that two Black stars, two sitcom stars, could make money at the box office [was huge].”

“I didn’t go to college, so I felt TV was my college years,” he added. “I felt with movies, I had graduated; it was just different.”

While the actor insists the franchise isn’t going anywhere, it’s still unclear where the fourth film is in development. A number of Will‘s projects have reportedly been paused in the wake of his much-publicized slap, with one report from April indicating that Bad Boys 4 had been put on hold.

Find out what Will has reportedly been up to since the Oscars incident.
